I just read Lisa Dempster’s Neon Pilgrim. I’m generally not into backpack-lit, but Lisa’s conversational confessional approach spins out a hilarious and (sometimes too) honest recount of her 1200 kilometre trek along Japan’s famed 88-temple pilgrimage, the henro michi. It’s a good read. I enjoyed it so much in fact, that I lent it to my sister. No harm in that right? People lend books all the time. But I wonder if your reaction would be the same if I told you I also emailed a PDF copy to my friend living in London.

Go Daddy’s dire pop-up predictions for Tuvalu and .tv

It seems domain register Go Daddy are tipping that the tiny island nation of Tuvalu is going under sometime soon. No official announcements from the registrar though, just a pop-up that appears if you click on the .tv domain option when searching for available domains to buy. Subtle warning: Go Daddy’s pop-up gives you the low down Are Go Daddy saying you shouldn’t by .tv domains because the islands are sinking? Perhaps this is the wrong way of thinking about it Go Daddy. Some of the readers of Boing Boing are onto a good thing: monkeythumper takes the scarcity = value economic argument. Surely they are going to be worth more when the place is gone?
