For anyone who has been to university you will know now stressful the last few weeks of semester can be. Procrastinating and/or drinking may be one way to take your mind of it, but over at the University of Texas at Austin, the good people of the Architecture Student Council on campus organise a biannual end-of-semester event named Foam Sword Friday, in which students bearing foam swords do battle on the pedestrian crossing on Guadalupe Street at the West Mall entrance to the campus. When the lights turn red, the student hoard engage each other in swordplay in the middle of the street.

At this year’s event an eager freshman was hit by a bus that ran the red light. As you can see from the video, Nick Engmann was flung a few meters forward, but thankfuly he was not seriously injured. His incident inspired the development of a Frogger-style HTML5 game called Nick vs. Bus. You play as Nick, ducking between the oncoming traffic to attack your foam sword-wielding foe. You may be unharmed by purple buses, but the white and green buses will kill. Take out as many other UTexas students as you can in 15 seconds!
