Talk about a dodgy business model! US copyright trolls Righthaven are exploiting the DMCA notice and takedown procedures in order to threaten litigation against websites and blogs that include Las Vegas Review-Journal content and failed to register a DMCA takedown agent with the US Copyright Office. The newspaper licenses the rights in their news content to Righthaven who have been trolling the internet in search of websites and blogs that have re-posted or excerpted the articles without permission or, worse, where third-parties such as readers have included copyrighted content in their comments or posts on forums.
