election day 15 :: more green to keep rudd clean

rudd announced in far north queensland today a $200 million environmental plan designed to protect the great barrier reef which as we all know is dying because of climate change. rudd’s plan targets sediment and nutrient run-off from farming in the area. now, don’t get me wrong, i am very pro environmental politics. plus one day i want people to be able to take their children to the reef (not me thought, i’m not having children…scary), so i understand the sentiment. but really? surely there is more to this election than the environment. as the election goes on it seems that labor is getting almost as green as the greens and the coalition are green with envy… not sure what’s going on? read my…

today also saw the announcement by the democrats and the greens of a preference deal for senate places in queensland. why? simple: But Mr Bartlett also says the two parties have announced the Queensland deal to cut the Government’s hold on the Senate and to block candidates such as Pauline Hanson. “We are also concerned about ensuring the Senate is not further controlled by the major parties or that if Queensland does have an independent voice in the Senate, then it’s somebody who isn’t an extreme and dangerous independent voice such as Pauline Hanson,” he said. not sure what’s going on? read my election speil
