How to – Subscribe to a YouTube channel using RSS

One of the most annoying things about YouTube is that there isn’t an obvious RSS feed for a channel or playlist so you can subscribe to it in your feed reader of choice.

Problem

Let’s say you want to subscribe to Twitter’s channel. When you are on Twitter’s YouTube profile there is no obvious feed. However, the feed URL for this particular channel is:

http://www.youtube.com/user/Twitter

Solution

The feed URL for Twitter’s channel is http://gdata.youtube.com/feeds/api/users/twitter/uploads. I generated this feed URL by adding Twitter’s username to the standard feed URL for channels.
